Two outstanding artists – Maciej Frąckiewicz and Marek Bracha – formed an unusual duo consisting of two seemingly mismatched instruments. Prize-winners of the 18th Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź (2013) whose basic repertoire includes compositions unknown to broader audience, such as Andante cantabile in E flat major by Jean Sibelius or Sonata, Op. 57 by Bernhard Molique, which originally were written for instruments that are not in use anymore – pump organ and English concertina.

The performers explore new possibilities of their instruments and search for a synthesis of the old and the undiscovered. Thanks to their efforts, Dariusz Przybylski  was commissioned to write Murals. Hommage à Mark Rothko for the “Composing  Commissions” programme implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance. The concerto was premiered with the Beethoven Academy Orchestra under the baton of  Jacek Kaspszyk.
