The duo proves that cello and accordion, though not an obvious combination, make a good match in various repertoire. Magdalena Bojanowicz and Maciej Frąckiewicz, who have been working together since 2007, perform not only works written for their instruments, usually dedicated to the musicians, but also the transcriptions of classical compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Manuel de Falla, Sofia Gubaidulina, and Astor Piazzolla. Apart from chamber pieces, the artists perform also parts of compositions with choir and orchestra. Their presence on the music scene inspires many composers to diversify the traditional orchestral instrumentation. Among many recognizable assets of this intriguing ensemble, perfection and detail-oriented approach, energy and vital expression seem to be in the lead. The performers use intensive emotions and passion as a way to make their interpretations timeless, characteristic and truculent, which has already become their trademark.
… the ensemble revealed maturity, deep understanding of contemporary music and the ability to cooperate on stage.
